When I first tried Text Aloud I thought, 'hmmm, novel idea'. But, when my little ones saw what I was playing around with on my computer they wanted in on the action too! Next thing I know they're typing out words to see what "Mary" would make them sound like. I was actually surprised by their complete interest in this program. Nothing fancy about the interface, no flashy colors, buttons or frames, just a simple 'type 'n click' structure.

In less than an hour of trying it out I knew this was going to be something that I could also add to the children's list of 'Must Have' programs. Now that we have the full 'Registered' version I am not disappointed at all. We actually went on over and downloaded more voices to play with such as 'Robot' which is a big hit in my house.

I use the American English 'voices' as well as the British English. But that's not all this program has to offer. "Text Aloud" also has 'voices' that can read in Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Let "Text Aloud" read virtually anything you have that is text based, such as documents, text on Web pages with the copy/paste feature, even your email. With "Text Aloud" even the 'visually impaired' can now enjoy 'hearing' all the internet has to offer with this excellent program. With Virtual Libraries popping up all over the place I can visualize "Text Aloud" as becoming a very vital tool. To top it all off, you can even save anything you've listened to in MP3 format and share them or personal messages by sending them through your email as MP3 attachments that others can listen to.
